For roofs on a claim
Insurance Claim Detach and Reset in Chicago Ridge, IL
When a damaged roof has solar on it, you get a solar scope your adjuster can read and dates that fit the roofing work.
The Solar Portion of the Claim, Itemized
Wind and hail are part of life in southwest Cook County, and when they ruin shingles under a solar array, the claim gets more complicated. The roofing estimate is familiar territory for most adjusters. The solar portion often is not. Sometimes it gets folded into one unexplained figure, and sometimes it is missing entirely. Our job is to make that portion clear. After a site check, we write an itemized scope for the detach and reset: electrical shutdown and disconnect, removal of modules, racking and conduit, tagging and warehousing, fresh attachments with re-flashing at each penetration, reinstallation, reconnection and recommissioning. Photos of the array and its condition before any work begins are attached, along with the panel count and layout. You or your roofer submit that package with the claim. We line up dates with the roofing crew and, at your request, field technical questions from the adjuster about the solar tasks. What we do not do is negotiate with your insurer or act on your behalf. The claim belongs to you from start to finish. And we will not tell you the work is covered, because that is decided by your policy and the adjuster's scope, not by the paperwork we prepare.
